BEL AIR, CA -- Hundreds of tanned men turned out for The Trevor Project's Dog Dayz of Summer Pool Party at the palatial estate of David Colden in Bel Air. DJ De León provided the music while several corporate sponsors provided the food and drinks. The Dog Dayz Team Brian Theobald (Event Chair) Herb Ankrom (ABC’s Extreme Makeover: Home Edition), Bill Cooper, Scott DeShong, Christopher Grubb, Gene Hubert, Eric Maryanov, Jason Oclaray, Kaden Smith, Jim White and Eduardo Xol (ABC’s Extreme Makeover: Home Edition) have committed to donating 100% of the ticket revenues to The Trevor Project. The Trevor Project is a non-profit endeavor established to promote acceptance of gay and questioning youth and aid in suicide prevention among that group. The organization runs The Trevor Helpline (866/4-U-TREVOR), the only national toll-free 24-hour, 365 day-a-year confidential suicide hotline for gay & questioning youth. In addition to the helpline, www.TheTrevorProject.org has important information on identifying suicidal signs, how to assist someone with suicidal tendencies and also houses “Dear Trevor” a confidential, Q&A resource where youth can ask non-time sensitive questions about the myriad of issues surrounding sexual orientation and identity. To stimulate discussions about these topics and anything that makes one feel “different” from their peers, they offer The Trevor Teaching Guide to be used in a classroom setting in conjunction with the 1994 Academy Award-winning short film “Trevor,” the about a teen who attempts suicide after realizing that he might be homosexual.
