Disneyland, CA -- Disneyland played host to the world premiere of Walt Disney Pictures' and Jerry Bruckheimer Films' "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest". The cast and VIP invited guests walked the 2000 foot red carpet down Main Street USA to a temporary movie theater set up on the shores of Tom Sawyers Island with seating in front of the Pirates of the Caribbean attraction. Johnny Depp, Orlando Bloom, Keira Knightley and the rest of the cast delighted fans along the red carpet. Many had staked out their space on the carpet when the park opened at 6:30 am. Even though the park had closed at 5:00 pm to the general public, those already in Disneyland were allowed to stay to witness the spectacle. Invited guests included Christian Slater, Jon Voight, Christina Applegate, Kevin Dillon, Rosanne Barr, Lisa Rinna and Harry Hamlin. The screening took place on the shores of the Rivers of America. The three story screen was set up on the tip of Tom Saywers Island and bleachers holding 1,900 guests were constructed in front of the Pirates of the Caribbean attraction in New Orleans Square. The attraction has been enhanced with several elements from the movie including 3 life size figures of Johnny Depp as Captain Jack Sparrow. Johnny Depp, Orlando Bloom and Keira Knightley arrived to their seats by the sailing ship Columbia decorated to look like the Black Pearl. Immediately following the screening a post premiere party was held with many of the rides and attractions opened for the exclusive use of those in attendance. |
